Research at the Faculty of Law UIR
Research is one of the main pillars of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and an ongoing commitment of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau. Through research, FH UIR seeks to produce scholarly work that not only has academic value but also offers real solutions to the legal problems emerging in society.
The many legal problems arising in society today call for appropriate solutions through structured and methodical research — whether self-funded by lecturers or supported through grant schemes from the UIR Research Institute and competitive programs from DIKTI/DP2M.
Supported by more than 30 experienced researching lecturers, the Faculty of Law UIR continues to encourage innovative research in criminal, civil, constitutional, international, environmental, business, and Islamic law — contributing to the development of legal science nationally and internationally.

Research Programs & Activities
A series of structured programs designed to improve the quality and quantity of research by lecturers and students of the Faculty of Law UIR.
The Faculty of Law UIR runs a comprehensive and continuous research program through two main agendas: planning and carrying out research activities for the development of legal science, and publishing scholarly work resulting from research for the advancement and protection of intellectual property rights. These programs are managed in synergy between the Faculty of Law UIR, the UIR Research Institute, and other partner institutions.

Regular refresher training in legal research methodology for FH UIR lecturers, held in cooperation with the UIR Research Institute to raise research standards.

Motivating and assisting lecturers in preparing and submitting research proposals through the UIR Research Institute's program schemes according to their respective fields of expertise.

Intensive assistance for lecturers taking part in national competitive research grant programs from DP2M DIKTI, including Basic Research, Applied Research, and Development Research.

Facilitating the publication of lecturers' research in reputable scholarly journals — FH UIR's own journals, Sinta-accredited journals, and international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.

UIR Law Review
UIRLRev is an open-access (open access) and peer-reviewed journal that provides an international academic platform for cross-border legal research on governance policies and civil rights, particularly in developing countries. Its scope covers civil, criminal, constitutional, and administrative law, customary law, Islamic jurisprudence, international law, legal pluralism, and contemporary issues in legal science. All manuscripts go through a double-blind peer review.

Prepare the Manuscript
Write the article using the official UIR Law Review template. Make sure the abstract (Indonesian & English), keywords, and reference list (APA/Chicago) are complete.

Create an author account on the portal journal.uir.ac.id. If already registered, log in and select "Make a Submission".

Upload the manuscript file and complete the metadata: title, abstract, keywords, author names, and institutional affiliations. Make sure all required fields are filled in.
Upload ManuscriptDouble-Blind Peer Review
The manuscript is evaluated anonymously by 2 expert reviewers. The process takes 4–8 weeks. Review results are delivered through the OJS system.
4–8 WeeksRevision & Publication
Once the revision is approved by the Editor, the manuscript enters proofreading and layout. The article is published online with a permanent DOI from Crossref.
