FH UIR Campus Life Ethics
Two groups of provisions governing student attitudes and behavior, both on campus and in the classroom.
Uphold Our Good Name
Uphold the good name of the alma mater, religion, and nation.
Dress Modestly
No plain T-shirts; female students wear modest Muslim attire with a headscarf, not tight-fitting.
Shoes Required
Every student attending class must wear shoes.
Arrive 5 Minutes Early
Arriving more than 15 minutes late counts as absent.
Sign the Attendance List
The attendance list is filled in and signed at the start of class.
Dangerous Items Prohibited
Firearms, sharp weapons, explosives, and poisons may not be brought onto campus.

General Ethics on Campus
Applies to all students at Universitas Islam Riau
Guidelines 2024Chapter IX · A
To create peace and order in the teaching and learning process, every student is required to:
General Ethics Provisions — 8 Points
- 1Comply with all rules and regulations in force or to be established by Universitas Islam Riau.
- 2Uphold the good name of the alma mater, religion, and nation.
- 3Behave commendably and avoid actions that may cause accidents, damage, disorder, or hardship to others.
- 4Not disrupt the smooth running of administration or obstruct Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) staff or government officials carrying out their duties.
- 5It is prohibited to take, damage, soil, or destroy property of Universitas Islam Riau, or use it without permission.
- 6It is prohibited to insult, verbally or in writing, or defame members of the Universitas Islam Riau campus community.
- 7It is prohibited to incite or slander in ways that may trigger or cause riots or disorder.
- 8It is prohibited to bring onto campus items that may endanger the safety of the campus community, such as firearms, sharp weapons, explosives, and poisons.

Classroom Ethics and Rules
Applies to all class activities at FH UIR

Every student attending class must obey and comply with the following provisions:
Student Obligations
- 1Every student must take part in educational activities carried out in the form of regular lectures, seminars/group discussions, tutorials, assignments, and other activities under the guidance of the course lecturer.
- 2Every student attending class must dress modestly. Students may not wear plain T-shirts; female students must wear modest Muslim attire with a headscarf and may not wear tight clothing.
- 3Every student attending class must wear shoes.
- 4Every student must attend class in an orderly manner and may not cause disturbances.
- 5Every student must sign the attendance list before class begins. The attendance list is signed at the start of class.
- 6Students must be present in class 5 (five) minutes before class begins.
- 7Arriving late by more than 15 (fifteen) minutes will be counted as absent, unless prior notice has been given.
- 8Students who miss class without permission for 20% (twenty percent) or more of all class meetings are not permitted to sit the exam.
Student Rights
- 9Students are entitled to request the Course Plan (SAP) from the course lecturer before classes begin.
- 10Students are entitled to request the course materials from the course lecturer.
- 11Students are entitled to ask questions of lecturers. Questions must be asked politely.
Prohibitions and Sanctions
- 12Activities are prohibited from giving anything in any form, such as money or other valuables, to course lecturers in connection with passing a course.
- 13Course lecturers are entitled to take firm action if students violate the above provisions.
