A. Common Ethics in the University

To achieve tranquility and order in the teaching and learning process, every student must:

  1. Adhere to all rules and regulations established and issued by Universitas Islam Riau..
  2. Uphold the good name of the alma mater, religion, and nation.
  3. Behave commendably and avoid actions that may cause accidents, damage, chaos, or suffering to others.
  4. Not interfere with the smooth administration or obstruct officials of Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) or government officials carrying out their duties.
  5. Prohibited from taking, damaging, defiling, or destroying the property of Universitas Islam Riau or using it without permission.
  6. Prohibited from verbally or in writing insulting or condemning members of the Universitas Islam Riau campus community.
  7. Prohibited from inciting or making false accusations that may incite or cause riots or chaos.
  8. Prohibited from bringing into the campus objects that may endanger the safety of campus residents, such as firearms, sharp objects, explosives, and poisons.

B. Ethics and Lecture Regulations

Every student attending lectures must comply with the following provisions:

  1. Attend educational activities in the form of regular lectures, seminars/group discussions, tutorials, assignments, and other activities under the guidance of the supervising lecturer.
  2. Dress appropriately during lectures. Students are not allowed to wear T-shirts. Female students must dress modestly, wear Islamic attire, cover their heads, and are not allowed to wear tight-fitting clothing.
  3. Wear shoes during lectures.
  4. Attend lectures in an orderly manner, and disruptive behavior is not allowed.
  5. Sign the attendance register before the lecture begins. The register is signed at the beginning of each class.
  6. Arrive in class 5 (five) minutes before the lecture starts. Lateness of more than 15 (fifteen) minutes will be considered absent unless there is prior notification.
  7. Students who are absent without permission (unexcused) for 20% (twenty percent) of the total face-to-face sessions are not allowed to take the exam.
  8. Students have the right to request the Lecture Implementation Unit (SAP) from the respective lecturer before the lecture begins.
  9. Students have the right to request lecture materials from the respective lecturer.
  10. Students have the right to ask questions to the lecturer. Questions should be presented in a polite manner.
  11. Students are prohibited from giving anything, such as money or valuable items, to the lecturers related to the course passing.
  12. Lecturers have the right to take strict action if students violate the above provisions.
