Pekanbaru, February 4, 2025 – The Faculty of Law at the Islamic University of Riau (UIR) held a meeting to elect the Chairman and Secretary of the Senate on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. The event took place from 09:00 AM until completion at the Faculty of Law.
The senate meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Musa, S.H., M.H., and was attended by 14 faculty members invited to participate in the election process. In a conducive and democratic atmosphere, the meeting proceeded smoothly in accordance with the established rules and regulations.

Following a transparent election process, the meeting concluded with the appointment of Abdul Hadi Anshary, S.H., M.H. as Chairman of the Senate and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anton Afrizal Candra, S.Ag., M.Si. as Secretary of the Senate.
In his speech, Abdul Hadi Anshary expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and committed to enhancing the senate’s performance in supporting the advancement of the Faculty of Law at UIR. Similarly, Anton Afrizal Candra affirmed his readiness to collaborate in fulfilling his duties as Senate Secretary.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Musa, S.H., M.H., in his address, expressed his hope that the newly elected Chairman and Secretary of the Senate would bring positive changes and improve the academic and administrative quality within the faculty. He also appreciated the active participation of all senate members present.
With the election of the new Senate Chairman and Secretary, it is expected that the Faculty of Law at UIR will continue to grow and successfully tackle various academic and administrative challenges in the future.
