Pekanbaru, 7th February 2025 – The Faculty of Law at the University of Islam Riau (UIR) held a seminar themed “Development of the Law Programme Curriculum at the Faculty of Law Based on OBE (Outcome-Based Education)” on Friday, 7th February 2025. The seminar was conducted in a hybrid format, both offline in Room 1.04/Hybrid and online, with participants including lecturers from the Faculty of Law at UIR as well as representatives from universities across Riau and beyond.
The seminar, aimed at deepening discussions on curriculum development based on OBE, featured a keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Ade Saptomo, S.H., M.Si, a legal education expert from the University of Pancasila, who participated online. In his presentation, Prof. Ade emphasised the importance of the Outcome-Based Education approach in designing a curriculum that aligns with the evolving legal landscape and the demands of the job market.
“By implementing OBE, it is expected that graduates of the Faculty of Law will possess clear and measurable competencies, aligned with national and international standards, and be well-prepared to face global challenges in the legal field,” stated Prof. Ade.
The seminar also included an interactive discussion session, involving both in-person and online participants, who contributed constructive insights regarding curriculum design that accommodates the needs of the job market and changes in the legal field.
Through this seminar, the Faculty of Law at UIR hopes to continue enhancing the quality of legal education and producing graduates who are ready to compete at both national and international levels.
