Tuesday, March 3, 2025 – From February 24 to 28, 2025, the debate team of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (UIR), successfully secured 1st Place in the Student Debate Competition at the 13th National History Olympiad, organized by students of the History Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau. This competition was attended by various prestigious universities from across Indonesia, each sending their best debate teams.
This achievement is the result of hard work, thorough preparation, and the sharp argumentative skills of the team. The debate team from the Faculty of Law UIR, representing the Scientific Writing Debate Forum, successfully overcame challenges in each round, demonstrating outstanding debating skills and convincing the judges with arguments based on logic, evidence, and relevance to the debated issues.
The team consisted of three students representing the Faculty of Law:
- Lilis Tryohana Pasaribu (Speaker 1)
- Hidayatul Jannah (Speaker 2)
- Intan Fadillah (Speaker 3)
Prior to the competition, the participants underwent an intensive training series. With strong public speaking abilities, professionalism, and effective strategies, the UIR debate team managed to achieve the highest award in this competition.
This accomplishment is not only an individual success but also a reflection of the quality of education at the Faculty of Law UIR. The participants hope that this victory will serve as an inspiration for other students to continue excelling and bringing pride to the university, while also enhancing their competencies in both academic and non-academic fields.
With this 1st Place achievement, the participants extend their gratitude to all parties who provided support, including faculty members, lecturers, and fellow students. Moving forward, they are committed to continuously developing their skills and achieving even more in future competitions.
