Pekanbaru, April 7 2025 – The Faculty of Law at Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) held an Open House and Eid al-Fitr Gathering on Monday, April 07, 2025, to celebrate the 1446 Hijri Eid. The event took place at the Faculty of Law building and was attended by lecturers, staff, and the extended academic community.
The event is part of an annual tradition aimed at strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among lecturers and the academic community after the month-long observance of Ramadan. In a warm and joyful atmosphere, the lecturers exchanged greetings and asked for forgiveness from one another, reflecting the spirit of togetherness and the meaning of Eid.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Musa, S.H., M.H, in his remarks, expressed gratitude and appreciation for the unity of all faculty members.
The event featured a friendly gathering, communal dining, and a collective prayer led by a senior lecturer. Traditional Eid dishes such as ketupat (rice cakes), rendang (spicy beef stew), opor ayam (chicken in coconut milk), and a variety of traditional cakes were served, adding to the festive spirit.
The Open House also served as an opportunity to share stories and experiences from the Ramadan month, as well as to express hopes and aspirations for a stronger and more progressive Faculty of Law in the future.
Through this event, the spirit of Eid al-Fitr is expected to bring positive energy in supporting the academic performance and professionalism of all lecturers and staff within UIR’s Faculty of Law.
