Pekanbaru – The Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (UIR), organized a series of competitions to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, August 25, 2025. The event was held in a festive atmosphere, involving lecturers, academic staff, and students.
Various traditional Independence Day competitions were featured, including sack races, tug of war, cracker-eating contests, as well as student creativity contests showcasing talents in arts and teamwork. The joyful and patriotic spirit filled the Faculty of Law campus throughout the day.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Law UIR emphasized that the activities were not only meant to enliven Independence Day celebrations, but also to strengthen bonds of togetherness and foster love for the nation among the academic community.
“May the spirit of our heroes continue to inspire us all, especially the young generation at the Faculty of Law UIR, to keep striving for excellence and serving the nation,” he said.
In addition to the competitions, the event also included a flag ceremony to commemorate Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day and the awarding of prizes to the winners. The enthusiasm of the participants reflected the enduring values of unity and patriotism within the academic environment.
Through this celebration, the Faculty of Law UIR hopes that the spirit of independence will continue to inspire students to contribute positively, both academically and socially, to the wider community.
