UIR Faculty of Law Holds PKKMB 2025: Building Resilient, Islamic, and Innovative Young Generation

Pekanbaru, September 16–17, 2025 – The Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) successfully held the 2025 Student Orientation Program (PKKMB) under the theme “From Campus to the World: Building Resilient Generations with Islamic and Innovative Character.” The event took place on September 16–17, 2025, at the Soeman HS Auditorium, UIR Pekanbaru.

PKKMB is an annual orientation aimed at introducing new students to the academic environment, university values, and campus ethics. This year’s theme emphasizes the importance of nurturing students who are not only academically excellent but also uphold Islamic values and can adapt to modern challenges.

In his address, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosyidi Hamzah, S.H., M.H., expressed his hopes that new students would become resilient and innovative individuals.

“PKKMB is not just a ceremonial event—it marks the beginning of an intellectual and spiritual journey that shapes knowledgeable, ethical, and work-ready graduates,” he stated.

Also present, Vice Dean II for Administration and Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Desi Apriani, S.H., M.H., highlighted the importance of discipline and responsibility.

“Students must learn to manage their time and commitments effectively. Discipline is the key to success both in academics and professional life,” she said.

Meanwhile, Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Collaboration, S. Parman, S.H., M.H., encouraged students to actively participate in campus organizations.

“Active involvement in organizations develops leadership, teamwork, and networking skills that will be valuable after graduation,” he emphasized.

From the academic perspective, Head of the Law Study Program, Dr. Selvi Harvia Santri, S.H., M.H., reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to academic excellence.

“We are dedicated to building a learning system that is research-based, adaptive, and aligned with societal needs,” she stated.

Additionally, Secretary of the Law Study Program, Moza Dela Fudika, S.H., M.H., encouraged students to develop strong Islamic values and innovative mindsets early in their studies.

“Islamic principles should guide every academic step, ensuring that innovation goes hand in hand with ethics and morality,” she remarked.

The PKKMB event featured various sessions, including the introduction of the university’s vision and mission, student organizations, motivational talks, and national insight discussions. The active participation of lecturers, alumni, and student committees brought enthusiasm and strengthened the spirit of togetherness within the Faculty of Law community.

Through PKKMB 2025, the Faculty of Law UIR aims to cultivate future leaders who are resilient, uphold Islamic character, and are innovative in contributing to society.
