Friday, October 10, 2025, the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) held a seminar titled “Writing Techniques for Reputable Journals in the Field of Law”, specifically organized for lecturers of the Faculty of Law UIR. The event took place in Room 104, Faculty of Law UIR.
The seminar was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosyidi Hamzah, S.H., M.H., Dean of the Faculty of Law UIR, who emphasized the importance of improving lecturers’ competencies in producing scientific articles for reputable journals. He highlighted that publications in international journals play a vital role in strengthening both the academic reputation and research visibility of the university.
The main speaker, Prof. Dr. Hariyanto, M.Hum, Chief Editor of Jurnal Yustisia — a Law and Constitutional Studies Journal indexed in Scopus Q1 — delivered an insightful presentation on the strategies and techniques of academic writing. He discussed key aspects such as choosing a relevant research topic, developing a coherent article structure, and adhering to ethical standards in academic publishing.
The seminar received enthusiastic participation from lecturers who actively engaged in discussions and raised questions regarding the publication and review processes in international journals. Through this activity, the Faculty of Law UIR aims to encourage its lecturers to produce high-quality academic works that contribute significantly to the advancement of legal scholarship both nationally and internationally.
