The Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (FH UIR), once again demonstrated its active role in supporting notarial supervision at the regional level. This was marked by the participation of FH UIR lecturers as representatives of the academic element in the 2025 Notary Protocol Examination organized by the Regional Supervisory Council (Majelis Pengawas Daerah/MPD) of Notaries of Siak Regency, held on Thursday, December 8, 2025.
The activity took place at the Siak Regency Government Office, Siak Sri Indrapura, and involved all elements of the MPD, including representatives from the government, notaries, and academia. FH UIR was represented by three lecturers: Erlina, S.H., M.H., Monika Melina, S.H., M.H., and Nur Aisyah T., S.H., M.H.
The event was officially opened by Dr. Fauzi Asni, M.Si, Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of Siak Regency. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of synergy among all MPD elements in maintaining professionalism and integrity in the notarial profession through continuous and lawful supervision.
As part of the academic element, FH UIR actively contributed to ensuring that the examination process was conducted in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 1 of 2021 and Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 40 of 2015. The examination covered administrative compliance assessment, verification of deed documentation completeness, evaluation of notarial protocol record management, as well as compliance with the notarial code of ethics and technical standards.
In addition to the routine examination, the agenda also included a technical discussion regarding the mechanism for unblocking within the PMPJ system, aimed at ensuring that every reporting and supervisory process remains within the applicable legal framework.
The entire series of activities was conducted in an orderly and conducive manner, reflecting the commitment of the Siak Regency MPD to safeguarding the integrity of the notarial profession and improving the quality of notarial services. The participation of FH UIR represents a tangible contribution of academia in strengthening notarial governance in Riau Province.
