Accreditation Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Riau
As a higher education institution, the Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Riau is continually assessed by the government. This assessment is used to classify and distinguish it from other similar faculties. The status is granted by the government based on an evaluation of the faculty's condition and capabilities in various areas, particularly those related to the management and operation of the faculty in the broad sense.
History Accreditation
"Equivalent" (Dipersamakan) Status
From 1986 to 1998, the faculty of law held "equivalent" (dipersamakan) status under Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 1378/1986 dated 19 May 1986 in conjunction with Dikti Decree No. 396/Dikti/Kep/1992.
Reaccreditation — Grade B
At the next reaccreditation in 2002, the Faculty of Law UIR achieved Grade B under BAN-PT Decree No. 009/BAN-PT/Ak-V/S1/V/2002 dated 20 May 2002. This achievement came during the leadership of Dean Arifin Bur, SH., M.Hum. With this B accreditation, the Master of Laws (S2) Program at UIR could finally be proposed to the Directorate General of Higher Education. On 18 February 2004, the Minister of National Education, through the Director General of Higher Education, issued the permit to establish the UIR Master of Laws program under Decree No. 681/D/T/2004.
Maintaining Grade B
Subsequently, under the leadership of Dean Zulherman Idris, SH., M.H. for two terms or 8 (eight) years, the Faculty of Law UIR successfully maintained its Grade B accreditation in 2008 under BAN-PT Decree No. 006/BAN-PT/Ak-XI/S1/V/2008 dated 23 May 2008.
First "A" Accreditation
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. H. Syafrinaldi, SH., MCL., the Faculty of Law UIR raised the accreditation of its Law Study Program to "A" under BAN-PT Decree No. 217/BAN-PT/Ak-XVI/S/X/2013 dated 26 October 2013, valid until 26 October 2018. This "A" accreditation of the Law Study Program was historic — the first for UIR since its founding 51 years earlier.
Maintaining "A"
Subsequently, under the leadership of Dr. Admiral, SH., MH., the Faculty of Law UIR maintained the "A" accreditation of its Law Study Program under BAN-PT Decree No. 2777/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/X/2018 dated 9 October 2018, valid until 9 October 2023.
Toward a Doctoral Program
With this "A" accreditation, FH UIR has the opportunity to establish a Doctor of Laws (S3) program and is currently in the process of opening a Doctor of Laws program and a Master of Notarial Law (M.Kn.) program.
