Pekanbaru, August 20, 2025 – The Senate of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (UIR), has officially elected Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosyidi Hamzah, S.H., M.H. as the Dean of the Faculty of Law UIR for the 2025–2029 term.
The election followed a democratic process that began with the Presentation of Vision, Mission, and Work Programs of Dean Candidates, held on Wednesday morning (20/08/2025) from 08.00 to 10.00 WIB at Room 1.04, Faculty of Law UIR. The event was attended by university leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, and students, providing an open forum for the candidates to share their strategic ideas and future plans.
The candidates for the Dean of the Faculty of Law UIR for the 2025–2029 term were:

During their presentations, each candidate emphasized their commitment to improving academic quality, strengthening research and scientific publications, expanding networks and collaborations, as well as building a transparent, professional, and progressive faculty governance.
Following the election process by the Faculty Senate, Dr. Rosyidi Hamzah gained the majority of votes and was elected as Dean for the 2025–2029 term.
With his leadership, the Faculty of Law UIR is expected to continue advancing, adapting to future challenges, and producing graduates who are not only excellent and competitive but also grounded in Islamic values.
