The Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (FH UIR) hosted the Coordination & Synchronization on the Utilization, Empowerment and Protection of Intellectual Property on Friday, 24 April 2026. The event was organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko Kumham Imipas RI) in collaboration with FH UIR.
Held in Room 104 of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau, the event began at 08:30 WIB (Western Indonesia Time). For FH UIR, this collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen both understanding and protection of intellectual property, within the academic community and in society at large.

The event involved leaders from the university, the faculty, and the ministry, namely:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Admiral, S.H., M.H., Rector of Universitas Islam Riau
- Dr. Nofli, Bc.IP., S.Sos., S.H., M.Si, Deputy for Legal Coordination
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosyidi Hamzah, S.H., M.H., Dean of the Faculty of Law UIR
The speakers were Prof. Dr. rer. pol. H. Syafrinaldi, S.H., M.C.L, Professor at the Faculty of Law UIR, and Dr. Syarifuddin, S.T., M.H, Assistant Deputy for Coordination of the Utilization, Empowerment and Protection of Intellectual Property. The discussion was moderated by Dr. H. Zulfikri Toguan, S.H., M.H., M.M, Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Law UIR.
Intellectual Property as a Shared Concern
Intellectual property is not limited to the research and innovation produced on campus; it also covers the works and creativity that grow within society. Through this coordination and synchronization forum, the utilization, empowerment, and protection of intellectual property are expected to move in closer alignment among government, higher education institutions, and the public.
The event also continues FH UIR’s attention to intellectual property issues, as previously seen in the intellectual property dissemination program with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Riau.
