Opening of the Himatara Constitution Debate 2025: Encouraging Critical Discourse on Constitutional Reform

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau (FH UIR), through the Constitutional Law Student Association (HIMATARA), officially opened the Himatara Constitution Debate 2025, held at the 3rd Floor Auditorium of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Riau.

Carrying the theme “The Direction of Constitutional Reform: Between Public Pressure and Political Interests,” this event serves as an important academic forum for students to develop critical thinking, argumentation skills, and a deeper understanding of contemporary constitutional and state law issues in Indonesia.

The opening ceremony was conducted in a formal and enthusiastic atmosphere, beginning with welcoming remarks from representatives of the Faculty of Law and the organizing committee. The event was symbolically inaugurated through the striking of the gong, marking the official commencement of the debate series.

In addition to the debate sessions, the activity also featured interactive discussions involving speakers and participants. Various perspectives and critical ideas regarding constitutional reform, public interest, and national political dynamics were discussed in a constructive academic setting.

Through the Himatara Constitution Debate 2025, the Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Riau hopes to foster students who are academically excellent, constitutionally aware, and actively engaged in contributing to the development of a more just, democratic, and integrity-based legal system in Indonesia.
